Re: General Discussion Mark II
Well, I dunno. Maybe I just don't mind mashing buttons, but I don't really see another way to do it. I personally find having to hold a button to be more annoying than mashing it. The only annoying problem I have with water is when I try to jump out of it and it just kinda hovers at the top sometimes. That's kinda annoying I guess...I'm very definite about that, apparently.
I'm not saying I look forward to water levels, but they certainly don't really bother me. Atlantica actually does, but that's for different reasons. Namely, I never have any idea where the hell I'm going.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Anyway, getting off the topic of physics in video games, I figured I'd show this here, since I picked it up today.

If I have a choice, I prefer to avoid piracy, myself. Plus, seeing it on an actual TV is just so much nicer than on a computer monitor, for some reason.

Same with me. The only pirated show I have is a Megas XLR bootleg I picked up at Wizard World. If there was an official DVD set I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Believe it or not, there IS one in fact. And it comes with a soundtrack for the series. Sadly though, I hear its hard to find.

I don't know why, but that made me laugh. I shouldn't be laughing, all things considered, but I did.

Normal Boots? All I know is that JonTron associates with them, and I think DYKGaming does, too. Mind giving me a bit more info?

@Haar Maybe you just associated the phrase "I am a man" with Linkara.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Normal Boots was basically the off-YouTube stuff that was done by everyone on Normal Boots: Being JonTron, Peanut Butter Gamer, The Completionist, and a couple others. They've come back after a whole year of being shut down with two new personalities, ProJared (who has some really good stuff) and SatchBag (idk him). It's all because of the bullshit YouTube copyright changes.

No, just the juxtaposition of "Man" with something as frilly-sounding as "PowerPuff Girls."

There's that, and the fact that Powerpuff Girls slipped a lot of stuff past the radar. Even my little sister mentioned a line in the show that had caught her attention, and she realized what it meant. And they do it a LOT.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Yeah, a lot of older cartoons do that. I remember Animaniacs was kinda famous for it, and I believe Looney Tunes might have a few things as well. Very few shows aren't afraid to do that any more, which is kinda sad...

Something about one of the trio mentioning to a little girl that they're all an accident of their father's, and the little girl says, basically, "It's okay, daddy says I was an accident, too."

Re: General Discussion Mark II
First reaction: My gosh.
But that's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. Most cartoons are afraid to throw in things like that. They're not exactly funny, but they add character to the show itself, and as a result, companies produce bland garbage like The Amazing World of Gumball, or other nonsense I can't remember because it was so boring. I've rewatched a few episodes of several shows I remember watching when I was younger, and then compared them to newer shows. Newer shows invariably suck, at least by comparison. It really bothers me, because it gets away with it under the excuse of "it's a kids' show," but in my mind, that's no excuse to not try. In fact, to me, that means that people should try harder, since this is what would impact the younger generation, so wouldn't you want it to be...y'know, intelligent? Rather than just two idiots running around spewing unfunny nonsense?
I remember one commercial for the show I mentioned earlier. The kid says, "What happened to your pants?" and the father says "I ate them." That's not funny. That's just stupid. And not the awesome kind of stupid. That's the kind where Wile E Coyote gets strapped to a firework and turns to ash, but in the next scene he's fine again, because cartoons. Or Dragon Ball Z's Buu saga. Yes, it's really stupid, but it exists for the pure purpose of making everything as badass and overpowered as possible, so people don't really care if it's stupid, because it's awesome.
So...yeah. Kid's show is not an excuse to avoid making an effort. Newer cartoons aren't as good as older ones. Sneaking past the radar is a good thing. Woohoo!

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Okay, I hate to sound like an asshole, because I do honestly agree with you, but would it kill you to find an original thing to rant about?
Sorry, this is a peeve of mine. Every time I see people rambling about how newer kids shows are terrible, and how "everything was better with MY childhood," it really starts to get on my nerves. Again, I don't really disagree, I'm just sick to fuck of hearing it. And on top of that, it's not like there's nothing good on children's television. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, The Legend of Korra, Ttransformers Prime. All great shows, even if Korra season 2 what'd a pretty rough start.
I won't act like I'm not guilty of this sometimes. I do tend to rant about how bad Omniverse was anytime I start talking about Ben 10. But it just gets annoying to see. And it's not like they're weren't bad shows back then. As nostalgic as I can be for shows like Squirrel Boy or Camp Lazlo, they weren't really all that good.
Sorry, I just get really annoyed by redundancy.

Welcome to the world of dead horse-beating and circle-jerking.
Where everything that everyone can agree on has to be beaten to a pulp and every differing opinion is bad.
