I did not expect him to start pulling out pig kidneys and shit.
It was disgustingly hilarious.

Oh, and to answer your question, Zelda, I brought it up in a topic Whats_Up posted a while back. I'll get the name in a second.

HA. You call that crazy, twisted, or perhaps utterly batshit crazy? I read that. It was funny. Crazy? Mayyyybe.

No, I just found it strange that that' what he does when he's bored. To each his own, I guess, but writing isn't something I think of doing when I simply have nothing else to do.

Currently I'm creating a text-based adventure to help me prepare for restarting Hybridic Heroes if anyone wants to rejoin on that.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Personally, I thought it was going fine, if a little slow. I was a bit more worried about how I would have to write carefully, or else we'd resort to using ass pulls just to make sure nobody lynched Clant. We hadn't gotten to the points where he'd very nearly get everybody killed several times, in contrived ways that make it almost seem deliberate on his part.
...Er, did I just reveal that? Uh... j-just kidding! No way I'd ever cause other peoples' characters to be put in life-threatening situations, no sir! *Ahem*Commandinganorganizationandsendingitsmembersintodangerousmissionsconstantly*Cough*
I'm ready any time, myself. Ah, and that reminds me, I STILL need to finish that picture for you, Edgar. I need to stop dawdling, and figure out exactly how to manipulate GIMP into doing my bidding, or try coloring it by hand... once it's penciled in, of course.

Do any of you guys have Trypophobia? I ask because I've been a bit curious about it lately. I have it, but my girlfriend's ridiculed me about it when I tried to explain it to her.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Haar, please be considerate. The fear of turkeys is entirely rational.
But, jokes aside, could you define it for us, Yusei? I think most of us are too lazy to look it up. Because I, for one, don't think about my phobias, then look for the official terms for them, so who knows?

I...was being serious. I just guessed, due to the chemical "tryptophan," commonly found in turkey.

No, I knew you were serious. I was joking. Seriously, we could just look it up, though. In fact, let me do that now...
Wikipedia says it's a fear of things with small holes, like beehives and ant hills, and that it's not officially recognized. It's also apparently called Repetitive Pattern Phobia.
...Hm. I guess I can see why that kind of thing would make somebody nervous, but I'd imagine you'd have to have some traumatizing experience to have that kind of phobia, since it mentions that reactions tend to be violent and extreme.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
My personal experience with it is that I usually only react to irregularly placed holes or bumps in certain situations.

Well, I'll let you find that one out for yourself if you feel so inclined.
But there are tons of pictures in which people have photo-edited these cells from the lotus seed pod into people's flesh...

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Well after having the absolute shittiest day of my life thursday, writing some very violent thoughts, and thinking, I came up with a snippet of a plot point in the making. Hope you enjoy.
Blake was now in the forest, a bit happy to be away from Skylar. He felt rather awkward around her, yet he was happy that she was still alive. This thought was immediatley replaced by a beautiful woman's sweet, tender voice.
"Iyayoui...
Nobomero...
Lemiri..."
The voice was as,if not more, enticing as the sirens Odyseuss challenged on his journey. He was vehemently compelled to find the source of the splendid singing. He wandered deeper into the forest.
"Iyayoui...
Nobemero...
Lemiri..."
The singing became more clear with every step he took. Each inch closer he got, the singing became more and more enticing that it would attract the most disiplined monks to the source. Untill...
"Lemi-ow!" Blake had stumbled straight into the source! He looked down at the woman, who looked more featureless than a blank canvas. However, she did have an above average face. He stuttered,"H-hey."
"Hi. Would you mind continuing to carry on? I'm trying to remember these lyrics..."
"Sure." He muttered this as he walked away, when the girl spoke up.
"They got you too?"
"Huh?"
"Land of Jordan. They gave you the darkness as well? Don't lie, I can smell it on you. It gets embedded into your mind if you've lived with it all your life like me."
"Yes..." He looked down with shame as he said this, then looked up and said,"Huh? You've had it-"
"Yup. 2nd generation. They got my mother when she was pregnant with me, and I have been ridiculed, excommunicated, and ousted since birth." She tries to hold back teats, but one manages to get past, as usual. She sighs and says,"I'm Ave."
"I'm Blake." He sighs as well. "I came here to try to get some controll over it."
"I can help."
"Wow, thanks. There's a training rook where I live. We can train there." After Blake said this, the two began to travlel to THTNW.
-End snippet-
Thoughts? Ideas?

Not going to lie, at first I was confused and wondering what the Hell was going on. Then I realized its probably a reference to one of the other RPs on this site. Am I right, am I right? Am I?

Re: General Discussion Mark II
Not sure whether this is TITAL or WBD, but not too bad. I think you might have been a bit tired when you wrote it, just looking at the spelling of a couple of words, but here's my question: Why was Ave "excommunicated since birth?" And who's doing the ridiculing? Also, she has a very strange reaction. She tries to not cry, fails, and then just kinda sighs at it. I think most people would just continue crying...
That isn't too hard to fix, just add a couple of lines where Blake is trying to comfort her, and succeeds.
One thing I would like to see from you is someone who has a fairly happy background, because everyone you write seems to have had either a crappy or ambiguous life. Try comparing Blake, the abused child who then finds out his mother is the leader of an evil cult and has no qualms killing her, to Sora, who lived a happy life, presumably alone with his parents, and got to play around with his friends on an island every day...until that island was destroyed and he was flung into a mission to save the multiverse. Just because someone has a good life doesn't mean that bad things don't happen to them.

Re: General Discussion Mark II
And it's not a case of "Original Characters can't be like that!" Look at Aleri. His background is basically the same deal as Sora's. And so is Rexial's, by extension.
Basically, if you can picture a perfectly happy four-to-ten-year-old version of your character, then they probably don't fit the overused tragic backstory mold. I mean, who needs a whole LIFE of crap to send them into the story? One event is enough for a lot of them. Sora and Riku, in KH canon. Rexial and Siks are early, perfect examples of this in Org.XIV. Aleri in TITAL is an example of NOT HAVING A TRAGEDY TO BEGIN WITH. The guy joins up because he thinks it'll be fun, and THEN things go wrong - i.e. he becomes King of the Punching Bags - and he suffers some loss, but he's generally upbeat.
Another thing: you don't have to give somebody's background immediately upon meeting them. Most people would probably rather not tell their life story to somebody they just met. After they all become good friends, it's possible that they would want to reveal their backstory, or maybe they encounter situations over time that remind them of their past, stuff like that.
Furthermor- ack! I caught myself that time, but I almost went on another rant! Excuse me while I try to shut myself up.
