General Discussion Mark II

Seeing as how the original GD is locked and a new one hasn't formed, I figured I'd put this up.

So, quick question. I understand Code Lyoko: Evolution has aired in France. Anybody know where I can find English subs. And I'll need to be able to watch it on a mobile device, my computer won't turn on right now.

I have come across an outrageous thing! I am OUTRAGED by this ragefully outward thing!

See, there's this game called Kaku San Sei Million Arthur... but, uh, it's kinda for the iPhone. This is thie ONLY FLAW that I see so far that could be crippling.

It goes above and beyond, for an iPhone game... a full-blown RPG that doesn't rely on a website, but still connects simply for minor updates, has voice acting, IS FREE aside from some extra things that shouldn't be neccessary unless you're one of those punks who has to grind to level 30 to beat the Salamander in FFIIIDS, and - this is the thing - the GameFAQs message board for it is empty. EMPTY! No questions, no reviews, and only one topic by one guy, and it's him BEGGING people to pay attention and try the game!

And the music? Composed by an artist known on the internet as Hyadain. I mean, it's insane! Now I have to find out more, so that I know whether or not my outrage is justified. If it truly is a quality game, then I feel that it should be brought to greater attention, iPhone or not, dammit!

Wow. I'm sorely tempted to buy an iPhone just for the sake of having this. Then again, isn't there a system called the OUYA or something that plays iPhone and Android games as a console? Either way, this looks pretty high quality. Unless you provided the link I wouldn't have believed you that Hyadain made this. This is awesome.

It DOES look amazing, and now it's tearing me up not being able to find out more... I don't have an iPhone, and I don't exactly have the spare cash for that. ..."OUYA", you say? Do you have any more information on that?

A full-blown RPG...on an iPhone? That's impressive, to say the least. All the same, I don't own an iPhone, and don't really care to...my current phone functions, and in my mind that means it doesn't need to be replaced. My last phone lasted until it didn't even have a ringtone any more.

Anyway, I am interested in this, all the same...And the board is empty? Not surprising for an iPhone game, but still, you'd expect SOME people to be on it. I guess it tries to appeal to the people who like RPGs and the people who like iPhone games. Seems to me the iPhone people don't like RPGs and the RPG people don't care for the iPhone, using the same logic I stated earlier.

*Sigh* Yeah, I agree. It just feels like such a waste of quality work... I mean, this means that I can say that there really is a game that meets the highest of my standards on iPhone. Fruit Ninja has nothing on this, and I've got limited info.

On the OUYA, all I can really find is that it got its funding through Kickstarter, it plays free games only (games that are free but have some purchases are allowed) and that it's running on an Android 4.1 system. And last month it was available for $150 at GameStop as a pre-order, system and controller included.

And apparently Infinity Ward and Square Enix are going to be putting games on it.

I was rather upset when I discovered that the game Toonami recently reviewed(I can't remember the name) was PS3 exclusive. Not because it looked good, which it did, but mostly because it was made by Studio Ghibli! Why can I not have that!? That sounds amazing! I don't even remember the plot, just that it apparently does have that Miyazaki feel to it. And I love Miyazaki.

Dammit, I don't have money running spare for any of that...

And, guess what? Wikipedia and SQUARE ENIX'S OFFICAL WEBSITE had no information on it. None. Now I'm getting really pissed off! Not only can I not play the game, but I can't even learn more about it?! So much for the internet's resources!

Thanks, KH. It's just... I can usually dig up surprising amounts of info. I have to stop myself from spending too much time digging through it all, sometimes. It's mind-boggling for me to run into a situation where I really can't find the information.

Okay, so I found it in the App Store. And I think I know why Square's website doesn't have anything on it. It's seller isn't credited as Square Enix, it's listed as woong An. And I didn't misspell or miscapitalize that. Try searching around for that, see if you can't find anything.

Sorry to double post, but I do feel its worth mentioning that I was only able to find the Japanese version. It doesn't look like the English version has been released, at least not that I can see.

I think his comedy can be quite abrasive and downright dumb at times, but occasionally he can pull it together and be enjoyable. I enjoy watching his videos. Most of the time.

The Admin has mentioned that he has plans to replace it. I would be willing to help with the design, myself, because I am a showoffy bastard who wants to flaunt his supposed artistic talent in your faces every single time you go to another page on this site.

So, fun fact: Not being able understand Japanese makes playing a Japanese game kind of hard. I should have seen that coming, I'm a dumbass. I can already feel your facepalms.

Also, I don't think the logo itself looks bad, it's just poorly centered. Moving it to the left or just scaling it would actually help quite a bit. But, that could just be me.

I think that the game was made to be appreciated, and as long as he's appreciating and enjoying it, then we should be accepting and respectful of him playing it.
And hell, I enjoyed the first episode.

Well, along with the centering, there's the really crappy quality, and there's the crappily done copy-paste of the game's logo over the Chain of Memories background.

Well, there's also the way the Kingdom Hearts logo is plastered on. It's not done too poorly, but it is apparent that it's not so great. It looks like something I'd do in MSPaint if I didn't feel like spending three hours fixing it pixel-by-pixel. Paint Tool Sai, though, would make it possible to do that in minutes, without the white spaces.

Either way, he said that a new banner would eventually be in the works, maybe.

Somehow, I'm picturing a top-down view with Org.XIV on the left with reddish lighting, in the middle being TITAL, and on the right, it becomes Persona with blue lighting. I dunno, that's just how I would design it if I were in charge of it, and were doing it right now. Neither of which are the case.


...Actually, KH, I figured you knew that it was all Japanese, and were volunteering to do it regardless. I thought you were being unbelievably generous and helpful, not just reckless. ...I'mma still pretend you did it despite the language barrier anyway because you're awesome.

I was more thinking along the lines of a sort of refurbishing of the old logo, in order to keep the old feel of things, but I suppose we could go for a complete revamp.
