Org. XIV (story)

The blade sparked almost harmlessly off the wall. "Overconfident pal, yet I'm aware of your abilities, your focus requires more concentration, feel the engery in the emerald, then look for the slightest impression in that engery."

"Right."

Focus... Wait, It's the right spot. Hang on, I was slightly off when I hit it. That must be why... So if I focus completely during my swing, I should hit the right target. He lifted his weapon and struck again. Either this, or it's on the opposite wall. That one had a slight difference in it, too, but this seemed more promising.

This blow cracked the wall but did not shatter

"Aw, man... I guess that's a failure. Maybe it has to do with the force I put into it... Man, when you say 'Focus', you really mean focusing EVERYTHING. Focus your mind, focus your body, focus your senses... crazy."

Leo nodded with a bit of a grin. "Every last bit of engery, magic, concentration, has to go into it, but luckily you're getting closer"

"Yeah, and I need to focus on EVERYTHING, not just what's important. Some of the tiniest details can be crucial." Aleri took a step back to try again. "I'm ready to finish this wall off..." He paused to make sure everything was perfect, then, with a shout, rushed at the wall, planted his feet firmly on the ground in front of the spot, turned his feet and waist, striking at the exact point, with all the force in his body, physical and magical.

The wall caved in entirely, but in large chucks. Leo nodded slowly. "Well done Al, the next wall of course will be much harder." He said as a single blue orb was floated out of the wreckage. He took it up and gestured for Aleri to give him Broken Soul.

"Err... Hand it over? That'll be tricky... Ah, here we go." He unsummoned the weapon, but left the chain in his hand. "Here." He threw Leo the Keychain. "Am I supposed to use a different Keyblade, or a weapon that you provide? Perhaps, no weapon at all? 'Cuz I'll be honest, my hand-to-hand skills are pretty lame. I need to work on 'em."

Kanra didn't have time block or dodge the attack. Damn it! He thought. Looks like I have no choice. I quick lifted his hand to his eye patch and then a wall of black flames erupted from the ground shielding him from the blast. As the flames ceased Kanra stood hand still on his eye patch shocked at what happened. "What the-" He was then cut off as something grabed Kanra by the back of the head and slammed him face first into the ground. It was a large knight in jet-black armour with a large sword on his back wih the Heartless emblem on its sides. "I thought I told you not to attack."

The Knight than stood and kneeled to Lance as if he where is king. "Forgive my acquaintance." The Knight asked.

Leo took a breath in focus, then summoned Broken Soul out in blade form. But now in had 7 holes on the flat of the blade. Leo raised the orb and set it inside the largest one near the hand gaurd. The blade glowed in a bright light then he swung it once, twice then brought it down in front of Aleri's face. The sharp tip sparked at his engery level before returning to he hands. "Those are level marks, sorta like a test score, you've passed the first test, now I can teach you a trick to over focus, which in turn will show you a step to mastering Avon, and for you to obtain the legendary Mark of Mastery" The teacher said but while he spoke he was walking away, already halfway down the tunnel.

Lance tossed his blades into the air where they stayed twirling in anticipation, "Apology accepted as long as no one got hurt. Who are you?" He asked curiously.

Aleri was silent, his face downcast as he followed. "...Mark of Mastery? Hm... I don't want it from anybody but the first person who tested me; otherwise, it's like asking your mother for candy because your father said no. It won't mean anything to me until I pass Master Roland's test." His face grew less serious. "...So! I'm Level One now, huh? Overfocus? Interesting... It would certainly come in handy."

"It surely does" Leo took a right turn and then was gone before Aleri could follow his foot steps. It was the second test ofciurse, these Caverns were like a labyrinth. Speaking of Labyrinths, as Aleri may have noticed there was another noise in the tunnel to his left, but it was coming toward him.

"I am Gawain the Shadow of the Sun." The black knight then stood up. "You have already Kanra the Angle of Death, Kanra the the God of Blood, and Your personal Grim Reaper." Gawain said annoyed. "Or at least those are what he calls himself."

Lance smirked, "So, it seems. Why did he attack me?" Lance was full of questions now that his assailant had stopped.

"The simple fact you were here." Gawain said. "He lives for nothing but killing and probably would have tryed to slaughter all in this world, although..." Gawain looked like he was stairing at the flooting keyblades but it was hard to tell. "Being a keyblader he set his sights on you alone." He then turned to Kanra. "You very lucky...what exactly is your name?" He asked Lance.

"Lance Wilright, king of Synthisle and second in command of Org. XIV. So, it was more of that keyblader attack mode huh?" He said noting the similarity that most evil things had a tendency to seek out keybladers.

"Aw, man, I lost him." Aleri turned to face the oncoming sound. Strange, there's a lot of noise interference, and I can't sense what that is.

There was flicker and loud hiss, the air in front of Aleri seemed to be pushed aside as someone or something ripped open the very front of his shirt. Like claws raking open paper. Then the presence was gone then it appear ed again behind him but faster. A invisible enemy to test his senses.

Nuts, this creature is really screwing up my senses. I need to figure out which senses AREN'T blocked or useless, or maybe find a way to overcome that... Afterall, my Keyblade does seem to have a tendency to seek out my enemies... No, I don't need to rely on that. If only Leo had actually TOLD ME HOW TO USE Overfocus earlier, then I'd have no trouble...

"Go away, Info Bar! I don't need your hints! All you tell me is obvious stuff anyway! Sheesh..." He sidestepped, feeling a strange energy from whatever attacked him. It seemed to flicker for a moment... He felt something pass by when he dodged. I'm getting a clearer picture as time goes on...

"Lance...." Gawain said quietly under his breath. "As I said your Highness you are very lucky." Gawain said turning his head slightly to Lance. "Kanra and I have been locked away for a long while. It is only reasontly that we have broken free, so Kanra is weaker than he should be....even with his seal on." He then turns his attention back to Kanra. "How long do plain on playing possum?" Gawin asked and Kanra made a slight twich. "I am fine lying down here you wont hit me." Kanra answered muffled by the fact that he was lying face first.

The creature slashed upward at his head and chest, but in Aleri's eyes, it was slowing down slightly, giving him a choice of blocking or dodging. In the small tunnel, it was hard to play offense.

Against something that doesn't have real, trained intelligence, the right idea is to dodge... Aleri danced around the attack, ending up behind the beast. ...then strike! He summoned TELOS and struck where the head would be, giving no time to recover from the failed aatack.

The invisible threat suddenly had TELOS pinned against the wall and another one was starting to come from the wall.

Aleri released a small pulse of energy, freeing TELOS from the wall. "Argh, why do I get the feeling that these guys are weak to Broken Soul? And Leo never handed it back... I swear, I'm punching him out when I see him next." He charged up some energy and cast Flare on the creature behind him, spinning around, slashing at both monsters at once.
