Sammy said,"So I need to find a way to pierce through your magic defense?"

"No, you need to survive my attacks. I suggest you dodge. Stop standing there and talking and START avoiding those projectiles!" Aleri yelled up, watching as the orbs began to shoot straight at Sam in sequence, for all different directions. "You can figure out how to beat me when you figure out how to live long enough to do it."

Sammy noticed the bright orbs flying towards him. Suddenly, one came flying from behind! He jumped, narrowly avoiding it.

"C'mon, I had to dodge these things moving five times faster without use of magic or weapons!" Aleri taunted. "And I didn't just survive, I WON. Against an onslaught of attacks with no source. Without my offensive or blocking capabilities. The one-sided, three-second fight that happened several trials later was another matter entirely."

Sammy began to dodge the orbs fastee and faster, untill he had enough of it. He pulled out his K-Bar, which looked darker and more flame-like, and sliced through two of the orbs.

Aleri shrugged. "For the record, I could have made them explosive. It's usually a bad idea to try dealing with magical attacks at close range. Allow me to demonstrate..."

There was a massvie rumbling, and a dragon made entirely out of ice rocketed out from under the ground, shooting straight up at Sammy. At the same time, a (relatively slow, considering) bolt of lightning shot down from the black sky.

"Try stopping that with your knife."

<Aleri has got to stop with the one-liners. I'll get around to fixing that never.>
EDIT: <For the record, I was trying to demonstrate the point I made in the Spirit Walkers topic: We're way to damn overpowered. Are they REALLY more OP than us? There has to be some kind of law against that. Like the laws of physics. That kind of law.>

"Pheonix? Ms. Pheonix?" A woman's voice called from the hallway as light filtered into the bedroom from the nearby window.

In the large bed lay a young girl with long dark hair, Pheonix as she was referred to by her friends, was enjoying a lazy day of rest and relaxtion. She awoke groggily and called to the door, "I... was... sleeping..."

"My dearest apoligies miss... But, King Willright requests your presence in the audience chamber." The voice said sincerely from the hallway.

Pheonix pulled herself up to a sitting position, "Alright... I'll... be out... in a minute..." Her head sunk back down onto her pillow as she threw her blankets aside shedding the comforting warmth in an attempt to wake herself up.

The young woman sat at the edge of her bed for a moment and stretched enjoying the warm afternoon light. She yawned as she stood up and looked into the long body length mirror. Her striking green eyes locked onto her reflection's own orbs.

The young girl smirked as she flipped backwards, "Watch and Learn! Tactical Shift!" Her bed clothes dissappeared, replaced instantaneously with her typical adventuring garb. She spun her revolvers as they materialized and holstered them, "Let's see what Lance has in store for me today." She smiled at her reflection as she left the room.

Nick was walking with Archer and Sylvia when a young man approached them at running speed, "Mr. Sinclair!"

Nick turned with a raised eyebrow, "A messenger?"

The young man bowed adjusting his headphones so they wouldn't fall off, "Yosuke Hanamura, royal courier. I was sent by King Willright to tell you he requests your presence in the audience chamber. Apparently, he has important news for you."

Nick looked at his comrades, "Well, should we cut our ice cream trip short?" He asked as he tipped the courier who smiled happily at the reward.

Sammy casually shot around 11 or so Aiden shots at the dragon.

Shots, which had no real effect on it. A real dragon would have been pissed off, or blinded if he was lucky, but this was just a fancy ice spell. "Wrong move."

The dragon, undeterred, swallowed Sammy whole, the bolt of lightning above chasing down its throat after him. Eventually, there was a collision, and the dragon exploded, sending ice chunks everywhere. Sam was now frozen in a block of ice, which was crackling with electricity.

Aleri ran up to the block and rapidly slashed at it with TELOS, breaking it apart with ease and freeing Sam... but causing some impact damage. "See, the idea was that you can't stop some magic. You were supposed to dodge. Let me demonstrate with something more obvious..."

He jumped back and charged uo some energy in his left hand. "Let me know when you're back to full lucidity."

Archer shrugged, crossing her arms over her chest with a curious look. "Ok. Wonder what he wants anyway. Hope it's not to tell us he's losing control of all those weird energies inside him," she joked.

Sammy blinked, and proceeded to vomit heavily.

Aleri sighed. "Yeah, being frozen alive, struck by lightning, eaten by a dragon, and getting whacked with a Keyblade in sequence will do that to you." He cast a Cure spell on Sam, trying to help him recover a little.

Sammy, slowly stopping his vomiting, said,"Guh... Mother of ****, that was NOT fun."

"It's only fun if you dodge. Then it's fun for both of us!" Aleri stated, as if it were perfectly normal to use attacks that would kill a normal man on each other.

"See, some magic just CAN NOT BE STOPPED. Like Ultima. The most destructive spell ever... it just kinda nukes everything. Get caught in the blast radius, and you're history. That dragon could have been destroyed by a powerful enough attack, but you're not really strong enough to pull that off, and you'd need either high-level magic or a heavy weapon. Thus, the solution is to dodge." He cast a couple more Cure spells on Sammy.

"Are you ready yet?"

"Aww...so much for ice cream," Sylvia shot a scowl at the messenger, as if blaming him for the disappointing news. "Alright, we'd better go see what ol' Lance wants with us." She turned her head from side to side with a slightly puzzled look. "Erm...which way was the castle again?"

Nick laughed and raised an eyebrow, "Right over there? You can't see the huge building at the crest of the hill?" He asked as he led the two in that direction.

"Oh. Yeah, I knew that," Sylvia grumbled, flicking her hair out of her eyes indignantly as she kept pace with Nick and Archer. "So whatcha guys think this is actually about? Must be pretty serious to send out that clown to report to us..."

Nick shrugged, "Maybe he's heard something about Match and wants to hear what we know. Or he's got a mission for us... Who knows?"

Sammy shook his head and said,"Can it be Naomi's turn?" Naomi said,"Umm... I think I'm good."

<What about a rhinoceros?>

"Now, now. Her turn is almost here." Rexial mockingly reassured. "Afterall, you still haven't learned how to deal with magic."

Aleri shrugged. "If you're not ready in five seconds, you're going to be short one torso. Trust me, this attack is not going to be stopped by any armor or defense you may have, so get ready to dodge, if you enjoy the prospect of living."

Sammy said,"Or I could prevent you from casting it." He then proceeded to jump to the top of the castle. Naomi just said,"And nothing of value was gained." Sammy let loose some profanities and hopped back, and then said,"Bring it on, Aleri!"
