Ventus' Zombieland

Layla gave him a drool look, "Just told you. We have to find some Champagne for some idiot in one of the cabanas. And I swear to god, she breaks it and tells me to find "not the cheap S***" I'll just kill her and take the damn diamonds." She left in search knowing full well that Leo, and Ronan if he wanted, would follow.

Ronan plodded up after her. "Hey, sorry. I must have missed the diamond thing." He looked at her trying to figure out the story behind the face. He looked up ahead to try to figure out where exactly these two were talking about.

Layla forced a smile at his concern, " 'S alright. I'm not quite.... how do you say? Well. I've been through hell and back... I just got the ability to speak back. So, just it ignore it if I come off as pissed at the world... I am." She smiled for real this time as she spun her knife in her hand while searching through the small beachside bar they had found.

Ronan smiled to himself. He suddenly became alert at the sound of someone, or something, inside the bar. "Sh. Do you hear that?" He drew his pistol again and tried to sneak up on the door, that's when the thing yelled. "Dammit."

Layla's face was a steely calm as she pulled Ronan away from the infected's gnashing jaws and stabbed it effortlessly with her wickedly sharp knife, "Conserve ammo." She explained pressing a boat oar that was laying on the ground into his hands, "Only use that gun on the big ones. The normal Infected aren't worth your bullets."

Ronan nodded agreeingly. "Yeah thanks. I'm just better with a gun and explosives, but I'll listen to ya lass." He looked down at the infected's motionless body. "It's a damn shame. My job was to protect him, now I have to worry about protecting myself from him. Damn, DAMN shame."

Layla shrugged, "It is, you'll get over it eventually. I've had to put down close friends and relatives. This hell isn't a pretty place." She stabbed her knife into the hardwood of the counter at the bar as she continued to look.

"Perhaps I should follow you, Nick. Since you know where to find Sinamoi more than I do." Crystal said as she stepped aside allowing Nick to lead the way.

Nick nodded taking the lead, "Alright, just follow me then." He found his way easily through the lifeguard tower to the main room where Sinamoi stood fiddling with the radio.

Ronan took a quick look at the knife then went and looked around the cabana. As he looked he realized he remembered this place. Only a few nights ago had he stood in that very spot with a beer in one hand, and some girl with a foreign accent, Maria maybe....he couldn't be sure, pulled close to him with the other. The other officers had dragged him along, even after he admitted he was underage. Now he was out here trying to survive. He kept looking.

The blue-haired guy's eyes snapped open. "Oh, good, you're human."

"Uh, yeah. Most zombies can't talk, I'm assuming."

The guy laughed and stood up. "Nah, I mean I haven't seen all that many other people around. Mostly just zombies. Zombies and more zombies."

"I know what you mean, they're everywhere. You should probably stick around me a while. Safety in numbers."

"Heh. What do I need safety for? I'm immune to their zombie-ism."

Kirby looked at the guy. "If you're immune, why were you afraid I was a zombie?"

"Um, because getting scratched and bitten by 'em still hurts like all hell. Name's Kent."

"Kirby."

"You mean like the--"

"Yes, that joke is unoriginal."

Lixan reappeared in front of Layla, going off his head. "STUPID F******* PHASE INTERFERENCE! I swear to the Nine I'll..." He turned around to see Layla. "Oh hi. I'm back. Who's the newbie?"

Ronan perked up at the sound of the new voice. He strolled over to see the new face. He stuck his hand out as he said, "Ronan McDowell, security officer."

Kent laughed at Kirby's apparent irritation. "Okay, whatever then. Yeah, sure, I'll stick around."

"Cool. So, uh...now what?"

Kent shrugged. "Whatever you want, man, you're the one who found me."

Layla rolled her eyes, glaring daggers at Lixan, "Go away." She pulled three bottles of expensive champagne from under a bit of refuse, "Leo, Ronan, let's go." She said walking out of the bar with the bottles in hand.

Ronan whistled after her, but hoped she didn't hear it. "The lass is feisty ain't she." He grabbed a bottle of expensive champagne near by and followed after. "So, where exactly are we taking this anyway? I know you said something about the lady out there, but I haven't been too far from where you found me."

Having followed Nick to what appeared to be the main room of the complex, Crystal saw Sinamoi fiddling with a strange device she had never seen before. Naturally curious, she walked over to Sinamoi and politely asked, "What are you working on there?" She stood there observing his workings with a curious eye while waiting for him to respond to her.

Sinamoi looked up momentarily, scanning to see who had entered, "It's a radio. Nick, you're just the guy I wanted to see. Go talk to Mark outside, he needs help with the transciever."

Nick nodded and turned on his heels, exiting to find "Mark", Sinamoi looked between the elf and the radio, "He'll probably need Nick to head out and gather supplies for him, I sugggest you go with him if you're feeling up to it."

While Crystal was curious about this 'radio' that Sinamoi was working on, she decided that it would be more worthwhile to accompany Nick on his task. So she turned away from Sinamoi to follow Nick out and find Mark.

Ronan looked up ahead to where he assumed they were going. Not too far away stood a thug. "Oi....want me to shoot it? Or do you have another plan?"

Kirby went back around the corner to where Xetus was and called, "Hey, I found a dude!"

Kent sighed. "You found a dude. That's really how you're going to introduce me?" He yawned.

"Yeah. I'm not really that creative, alright?"

"Whatever." Kent walked around the corner, revealing himself. "Who's the walking arsenal?"

Layla's form flickered as anger scorched her vision, "I've got another plan." Her Fury took hold and moments later, the thug was nothing more than a pile of shredded meat.

Nick was speaking with an older man who held a bundle of cable, "Nick, I need you to go out and find a signal booster. I was working on one at the lighthouse but I didn't bring it with me when I came here. Think you can go get it?"

Nick nodded an affirmitive, "Alright, no problem. You with me on this one, Crystal?"

" Sure I'm in." Crystal said as she caught up to Nick. "So we're headed for the lighthouse huh?"

Ronan looked on in awe. As the thug fell he could only mutter "Woah." He realized quickly that the stupid look on his face was apparent and quickly shut his mouth. He followed after her. "Ya know....you're pretty headstrong lassy." He caught up to her and walked next to her.[left]

Layla nodded, "Comes with the territory. The outbreak may have just started but believe it or not I've been living it for the three years now."
